New Kursk book - Kursk, The Battle of Prokhorovka

Chris Lawrence’s long awaited book: Kursk, The Battle of Prokhorovka, is finally at the printers! I have proof read all three drafts of the book over the last ten years or so and I can tell you that it is quite a book. It is more than 1600 pages and you won’t find more detail, on both the German side and the Soviet side, anywhere, and the maps are great! It deals with all actions of the 4 PzAOK and AA Kempf, focusing on XXXXVIII Pz.K., II SS Pz.K., & III Pz.K. and the Soviet forces opposing them, leading up to Prokhorovka and the combat thereabouts. Probably be on the book shelves by the fall. Dust jacket is below

thanks for the news. I talked with Chris several months ago and it sounds pretty big. At this length, will it be released as a series?

Finally!!!!!!! I've literally been waiting 12 years for this book! This is promised to be as definitive an account that you will ever get! I've been at the Dupuy Institute since back in 2003 patiently watching the progress of this book! Lawrence's research is supposed to be impeccable, from both the Russian and German perspectives. It's also great that Tom at Aberdeen is publishing this one. I've been looking at his site the last few days, ever since I heard he was publishing the book, but it's not available for pre-order yet. Please keep us informed when we can buy it!!!!!!

Chris is on vacation right now and as soon as I hear anything about price and availability I'll pass it along.

I first heard of this book back in 1999 after buying Talonsoft's East Front II. The game has a number of text documents explaining the background for the battles and campaigns and one of them made a reference to this book -- due to be published in 2000 :D

Please post preorder information as soon as it's available. I just love books with more than 1000 pages!

Yeah I got involved back then too. Unfortunately Chris got side-tracked by a book on the Iraq war and had to put Prokhorova aside for a few years. Soon as I have any availability info I'll post it here.

BTW if buying from Amazon, I hope all will click there thru the link on the forum and help support the forum and the great work that Marcus does here.

Aberdeen books will be publishing and selling it, and I'm sure other booksellers will as well...It's not available yet for preorder. But I believe it is at the printers...

Despite the high price, I'm tempted to get it. Does anyone know to what extent the northern sector will be covered, if at all?
