"Trail of the Tigers"
Well, here's a pleasant surprise! "Trail of the Tigers" is a self-published booklet by Ron Klages (yes, the same Ron Klages that frequents Missing Lynx and Feldgrau). In this booklet, through charts, lists and data acquired from most of the top books on the subject, Ron attempts the incredible feat of tracking every Tiger I and Tiger II produced, from unit allocation to date of loss. You kind of have to see it to believe it.
But, at $10 + $4 shipping, this booklet is worth the price if only for the day-by-day loss tables for each front, including Tunisia. This is private research at its best and IMHO, a valuable addition to any Tiger lover's library. Especially since he accomplishes exactly what many of us have wanted to do for some time--figure out who got the Tigers and what happened to them! Best Regards, David

I got the booklet yesterday. It's a great work. This booklet, 'Trail of the Tigers', is an effort in trying to find out about the fate of all the Tiger tanks. The 'Trail of the Tigers' contains charts over production, unit losses, tiger aces etc. The booklet's main work is composed of charts of every unit equipped with tigers, a short unit history, name of unit commander and such. The booklet also contains delivery dates and allocation of the tiger units and it ends with charts over the losses with information about date, location and cause. This is truly a great work and I think it's an essential one as well. Ron has spent much effort in making this as complete as possible. I recommend this booklet to anyone who has interest in tiger tanks.

Re: "Trail of the Tigers"
For those people that own "Trail of the Tigers," does it contain a list or chart of the chassis numbers of the Tiger Is sent to Leningrad and Tunisia?
Thanks,

Hey Garry,
There is a chart in that booklet that lists deliveries to units and some chassis numbers are indicated. Ron also had a booklet called "Afrikaner Tigers" that includes a chart of losses and indicates some chassis numbers as well.

Chassis number information is at the end of TIC II and Jentz's Tiger I & II Combat Tactics.

Hello
This was a self-made/printed book and the author unfortunately died several years ago.
