Frank Ellis, the author of "The Stalingrad Cauldron," is releasing a new book about Operation Barbarossa called "Barbarossa 1941"

Great!
His Stalingrad book has been long on my reading list, though I still could not make myself to actually buy the book.

Anyway, the author has to be commended to speak out with courage, when he feels so.

Please tell me this one has got maps in?

If I remember rightly, The Stalingrad Cauldron had none.

I find it inconceivable that any military history book could ever be published without maps.

To my mind, the absence of maps automatically disqualifies them from a five-star review before so much as a word is read!

Sid.

Thanks for the review, Yan. I was going to buy that. I think I'll give it a miss now.

Hope you're more forgiving when my Barbarossa book comes out in a couple of years :)

If it's anything like your other books, I don't think you'll need to worry :).
