Dear all,
I am glad and proud to be able to announce that volume I of my study “Die SS-Totenkopfverbände 1933 – 1939” is now ready for shipment.
Volume I describes in detail the history of the SS-Totenkopfverbände during the years 1933 – 1937.
The enclosed attachment shows a detailed description of its contents.

Please note that my study does not "compete" with Mark Yerger's "Totenkopfdivision" book, as mine is written in german and only dealing with the years 1933 - 1939.

The present book has a format of 17 x 24 cm, is printed on high quality silkpaper and contains 297 pages and 150 photos at a sellingprice of 40 euros excl. shippingcosts.

In the meantime all pre-ordering customers have been informed.
Prospective buyers are kindly requested to show their interest by sending me a PM.

Looking forward and best wishes,
Marten van Dijken

Hello bcd,
No SS-Ust. Johann Weber ever served in the SS-Totenkopfverbände. Therefore, if you don't have any other interest in the history of the SS-TV, my book won't be of any help.
Best wishes,
Marten

Dear forummembers,
Salesfigures show that volume I of my book "Die SS-Totenkopfverbände 1933-1939" is meeting the need of a great number historical students as well as military collectors interested to learning more about the very complicated history of the pre-war upbuilding of the armoured SS.
Given this interest and the positive salesfigures hitherto, I am glad to anounce that I definitively decided to publish volume II of my book (July 1937 - August 1939). If things go well, this second volume will be available somewhere during spring 2016.
Those who already bought volume I, don't have to pre-order. I have their emailadresses and they will be informed in due time when volume II is ready.

For those who bought volume I of my book so far, I am listing below necessary additions/corrections after volume I was published in September this year:
Page 24: please alter picturedescription “Häftlingskolonne des Konzentrationslagers Lichtenburg in 1935” in “Häftlingskolonne des Konzentrationslagers Hohnstein in 1934”
Page 126: please alter in picturedescription “Scheungraber” in “Scheingraber”
Page 250: please alter in picturedescription “Kassel” in “Mainz/Darmstadt”
Page 225: please add to the list of the Junkerschüler "Arnold, Carstens, Mützelfeldt, Weitzel" who were transfered to IV. SS-TV Östfriesland": Richard Pauly
Page 253: please remove from the list of the to V. SS-TV "Brandenburg" transfered Junkerschuler "Christoph, Holenia, Pauly, Westermann”: Pauly.

Copies of volume I are still available. Please write to [email protected]

Best wishes,
Marten

Thank you very much for the updates Marten.
This is an outstanding book and a important addition to anyone's Third Reich / World War II library. Packed with information based on primary sources and many unpublished photos of personalities / units / locations, etc.
I am very much looking forward to the next volume(s).

All the best and thanks again for your excellent work.

This book, part I, is part of a larger series and covers litteraly every aspect of the SS-Totenkopfverbände until 1939. The author spend many decades in preparing this work and it really shows: it is by far the most detailed book (or series of books) on the topic. All aspects are also covered, for those who are looking to know more about personalities or for those who are more interested in structures: everything is discussed and explained. Considering that it basically the definitive book/books on this topic, it's a must have for anyone interested in this area of even more broadly the Waffen-SS.
