I have written two books with Maxim Popenker: Machine Gun (published July 2008) and Assault Rifle, both published by The Crowood Press in England. Both of these follow the same format: a general history of the weapons, chapters on ammunition and gun design, and a country-by-country coverage of developments including detailed descriptions of service and many experimental weapons.

As I am primarily an ammunition enthusiast (Max being the gun man) I have included far more detail on this aspect than you will find in other gun books, including photos of virtually all service ammunition plus a lot of experimental types, different bullet types and so on.

More details can be found on my website (see link in my sig below).

I've published a pair of titles this year. The first, co-written with Vladimir Yakubov, is Raising the Red Banner, a look at Soviet warships up to 1945. Lots of pix, I think 230.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Raising-Red-Ban ... 882&sr=1-1
It is just now becoming available at North American sites.
The second is a 40-page booklet, In the Shadow of the Battleship, focusing on cruisers. Since there is so little published material on cruisers, I have put together some essays to help folks avoid some of the confusion that's so prevalent.

Bravo! It sounds like both books will provide a much-needed fill of some important gaps.

Thanks! I certainly hope so.
I can vouch for Enrico's work, at least the English-language material (!). Very good stuff. I believe we'll both be in next year's Warship again.

Some early reviews:

"I picked up my copy at the show, and it is awesome!" HC on the WAF.

"I got my book in the mail today and it is great (beautiful book and slip cover). The layout is super and it is very detailed on both lanyards and the silver and gold TDB. I can't wait until the weekend so I can take a closer look. It is a must have." JB on the WAF.

"I received mine in the mail today as well. I give it a :D :D !" TG on the WAF.

"I bought the book at the SOS and read it the first night. The next day I walked around and was able to ID real and fake lanyards - something I could not do before! I even noticed the difference between East German and Bundeswehr lanyards masquerading as Wehrmacht. Not only that, the book is INTERESTING–really fun read. And the photos are top notch. Well done and thanks for the effort! The small investment has already paid off! :D “ Marc Garlasco author of The Flak Badges.

"Another great book by Tim & Neil! Every facet of the book is first class all the way. You guys are rapidly setting standards for militaria reference books; keep up the fantastic work!" GH on the WAF

"You and Tim have my absolute congrat's on your new book "Bulls-Eye”!! Collector's New and OLD will enjoy the fine job you did on the book. Great info and fantastic Photos!! (And at a GREAT PRICE). I've been collecting now since the 1950's, and had NO knowledge of Lanyards until now, Again, to you & Tim, Thank you for a FINE JOB!! Yours, Tom Breyette" author of Tank Killers: History of the Tank Destruction Badge.

"I received my copy of "Bulls-Eye" last Thursday. . . Congratulations to both yourself and Neil for a well done reference book on two previously undocumented subjects. ” RT

"I received the book today ....FANTASTIC :D :D Thank you very much for the signed card; I have placed it in the book. Thank you very much for you time and your work passed on the book conception!" VB (France)

“I bought a copy at SOS as well and recommend it highly.” MD

“I just wanted … to tell you how terrific the final product turned out to be. The book is a superb reference from beginning to end and really reflects the quality and professionalism of Tiger III. Tiger III is clearly going to set a new standard for publishing excellence in our collecting field. I hope that with this new book, you'll be able to attract other authors who would otherwise have gone with publishers whose current products are less than spectacular. Thanks again for letting me be a part of this great project.” SR author and historian.

Kriegsprache

Literally translated as "War Speak," Kriegsprache is a glossary of WWII German military and period specific words, phrases, abbreviations, and Landser slang. Four years in the making, it consists of over 7,000 abbreviations and more than 17,500 words and phrases have been collected to aid the student, historian, and researcher in translating and understanding German documents, letters, and reports from WWII. Also included are rank comparison charts for various German military and paramilitary formations and a Waffenfarbe chart on the rear cover.

The book is currently available from http://stores.lulu.com/houlihant but should be available through Amazon (both US and International), Barnes & Noble, and other online distributors shortly.

If you go to that page, click on the title link. That will take you to a page where you can view some of the inside pages. Since their system is a little different, the button that says "Add Print to Cart" is what you click to buy it. As they sell more than just books, some products list print, download, music, whatever.

Thanks for the support!

Sort of explains why I dropped off the map a couple of years ago...
