Hello AlifRafikKhan,

Thank you for uncovering such a fascinating photo.

The large Tripod-equipped instrument on the right-hand side is a very curious item indeed, and unlike any rangefinder that I've ever encountered before, and strongly suspect that it is a camera with a telephoto lens.

There seems to be something dangling from the operator's end of the instrument that I suspect is a bulb shutter release trigger, so that the operator doesn't jiggle the camera when taking a photo.

Best regards,
Paul

P.S. Of course, it could be a movie camera, but I've only ever used a shutter release cable myself for stills-photography. We'll see whether anyone has any definite info. regarding the equipment.

Hi Sturm

Nice photo.

Any luck with the image you posted on 6th July? I searched for Belguim sound locators, both in English and French. Do any of our Flemish speaking colleagues know what they are called in Flemish?
I tried Soviet sound locators, found some but none looking like the ones in your photo. Could it be Dutch? It is not Danish, they used the same type as the Czechs and the Poles.
