By night, the Kommandogerät can't see the target if not lightened by the Scheinwerfers. And the Scheinwerfers can't find the target in the wideness of the sky without any held. Thats why the Hörschgerät "listens" the sky and calculate the position of the target from the noise of it's motors. The calculation is transmittied to our device, the Richtgerät, that converts the position of the target in an elevation and azimut to the Scheinwerfers. Thus can the target be lightened and Flakkommandogerät can be used.

Otherwise are radar used.

I own an example of the zeiss 10x80 20 degree binocular shown in the photo for this type of carriage and it is marked L.R.G. C39 for "Licht Richtgerate" It is also marked "L" for "links" as the left set of binoculars for the set.

I don’t question the designation but fail to see connection with a listening device. The piece of equipment was designed for normal optical binoculars held on the arms. This particular version was adapted for infra-red viewing and functioned in the same manner described i.e. at night looking for heat signatures to direct the searchlights onto target. Note the black object at the end of the scope which is the hinged cover for the IR receiver, a ZG 1221K or sub version of it.
The RRH, the original listening device, was also converted in this manner by removing the listening horns and placing 2 viewers on a cross bar with appropriate seating for 2 operators.
