Hi Carl,

Is this a standard equipment of German mountain troops?

Hi Sturm 78,

on Your pic is a so called signal-lamp apparatus type 1916 (mittlerer Blinkscheinwerfer), made by Carl Zeiss Jena.

Thank you for your help, Bert (...and sorry for my delay)
Therefore, a WWI-era equipment, no?

On the other hand, I found these two images on EBay.
I think it is an equipment associated to the 28cm K5 (E) railgun. Any idea ?? :? :?

Hello Sturm

most of the pictures of this konvolut are from a member of the V0-Meßtrupp 604 (attaced to Eisenbahn-Batterie 710)
so its a instrument of this trupp....i'm curious, as it is ....
maybe someone have a K.St.N/K.A.N. of a (Eisenbahn-) V0-Meßtrupp

Hello Sturm,

I only know it's often used with the K Rbfl for rail guns, and as you said it's in a K5 battery...

Thank you, Eax-E

Here, some more images from EBay. I am not sure if all these devices are artillery theodolithes (Richtkreis) or not. :?

Thank you for your reply, Eax-E.

It is difficult to identify this type of small optical devices in wartime images.

Here, another image from EBay. Not standard S.F. 14Z Scherenfernrohr observation periscopes, but rather seems some type of field binoculars on tripods. Any idea ?? :?

Hi Sturm,

Hard to say, there are so many types of binoculars ! It seems there is an azimut-mesurer on the tripod ??
