Large grenade ID ? Possible artillery

#1

Post by WRanG » 18 Jun 2014, 14:07

Hi guys. I just got this grenade.
It is quite large and was at some point made into a lamp

I dont know if the top is supposed to look like that. but it seems that there have been added a plate, or that the top have been welded and then grinded. (maybe it is supposed to be like that?)

Can anyone tell me more about it ? it is 60cm high. diameter in the bottom is around 140mm, and at the middle somewhere between 145-155mm, The 'walls' of the shell seems to be 10mm thick
It weighs 26kg as it is right now.

Btw, it is found in Denmark, so maybe something from their arsenal at some point, could also be german or american, english ?

Anyone got an idea what it is from ?

Hello

A possible "candidate" could be this one:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M107_projectile

Used by the M109 selfpropelled Artillery in Denmark.
