Which swordsmith??

Postby smsayre65 on 04 Aug 2012 20:42

Hi
I have what I believe is a Yoshimitsu Seki blade made by the "other Yoshimitsu", Tanaka Shokichi. I really need help making sure though....I attached a couple pics for folks to look at, including the "Mount Fuji" Hamon line. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you very much Roman! I am a member of a Nihonto Japanese sword forum too and Im not getting any response from them, which may be an indicator of something very special. If it werent real or unique I would have 35+ "thats a fake" replies from any and all forums. I see it as a good thing. Stump the experts! I am going to join the blade forum now and thanks again!!

This blade is signed; NOSHU SEKI (NO) JU YOSHIMITSU SAKU (Made by Yoshimitsu living in Seki).
Seki stamp (post 1942).
Appears to be Yabushita Yoshimitsu.
Nice looking blade which would be oil tempered since it has the stamp.
Hope this is of use.
