I'll stand behind what I said about your "SS/HJ Knife"....that it's a reproduction from the 1950s/60s....however, while looking for something else, I did find your knife listed in "Collecting the Edged Weapons of the third Reich Vol. 2" (by Tom Johnson) on pg. 294. Under "Rare and Unusual" Catagory....say's it's a "Rare early HJ Knife bearing the SS Motto"....
However....it's still a fantasy piece assembled & engraved postwar, IMO. There are many errors and fakes in many referance books....including "his"....

I don't believe the other HJ knife (your link) with the "SS Motto" is real, either! (Original knife but "newly engraved")....

Check with Johnson....if he believes in it, he sould be willing to pay "big bucks".....(I wouldn't....however!)

Once again - what John said. If someone decides to ask TMJ how much he would pay for the HJ knife, they might also ask him how much he would pay for this "beauty" that he also had in one of his books. It got a full page writeup - so maybe it's worth a lot of money now?? 8-) FP

Hello there,

I do not believe the knife that started this thread is authentic.
