I'm sorry, but it's a fantasy piece.

As Dwight has said, it is a fantasy piece. There are a lot of these coming on to the market from Eastern Europe, including being sold in local markets and via auction sites. Here are some more examples, including one with a photo of Peiper.

Yes, counterfeit. Fake. Fantasy. Made-up. Call them what you will but they are not original. Nothing like these was seen on the market until very recently and the use of photos of well known soldiers (Peiper, Streve, Baum to name a few) with fictitious names are just two of the red flags.

I just fell off my chair laughing.... Who makes this stuff and who buys it?    Not only that there are obvious errors of spelling of the German words. Why should there be an "Opel" id-card for people in the "Reichskanzlei" with a Volkswagen Käfer on top? And who is "Rommel, J."? This is so lame...

Unfortunately people are buying them. One example recently was sold on M321 for over €200. If you're new to the hobby and don't know how to research or don't know any better then they are the sort of things you could be tempted by. I think it's the newcomers these things are aiming for.

The only thing missing from this scam is the opportunity for people to buy into a pyramid scheme, so they can rake in the profits while minions working under them are selling these at flea markets and auction sites everywhere. What tripe these things are!

I miss the good old days when you knew that "Hitler's Treasure Map" just had to be the real thing.
