From what I have seen on this post (and despite not having handled the original) my personal opinion would be that the signatures have the consistency of forgeries.

I also am not comfortable with this group of signatures.For a starters the Karl Fiehler signature does not look right.

Indeed, the Fiehler does not look like a lot of examples
you can find in the web. Karl Fiehler was an alcoholic during the war . I guess this Fiehler signature looks a bit different because it was produced in 1944/1945.
Why would someone fake 10 signatures, wherof 6 signatures can't be identified. A lot of work for a small amount of money.

Well there could be many reasons Nicholas. For example what sometimes happens is that something like this might be sold to an unsuspecting person for a few hundred euros. Later the person who has bought it finds out that it has been forged and sells it on again. However the item might only attract buyers who are prepared to pay a few euros but the seller might thinkhe will accept practically anything to get rid of it since he now knows it is worthless. This is just one scenario and I am not suggesting this is the story of your group of signatures.

Some people forge these things just for the fun of it and for the kick they get out of fooling at least some of the people. For example about 20 years ago a man named Gregory Douglas aka Peter Stahl and many other names forged thousands of American intyelligence documents just to try and prove that Gestapo Chief Heinrich Müller had survived the war and worked for US intelligence. He was quite meticulous in forging some of the documents but he made some mistakes which were easy to spot if you knew your way around similar genuine documents. He actually sold this trash to a publisher who produced three volumes based on it. You can still buy them today. This wan't the only thing he forged but he loved thinking he could outwit everybody including the FBI who actually had a big file on him. He wouldn't have made any money out of it but that wasn't what he was after unlike Konrad Kujau who forged the Hitler diaries.

So ther are lots of reasons for forging wartime or war related documents and I am sure they will continue to appear on the markets for many years to come. Sad but a fact of life.

Although it's supposed to look like Schmitt, it can't be him - he wasn't O'Gruf. until 1937. For me, there's something about this document that leaves me feeling uncomfortable. A couple of things just don't ring true. Might be wrong, but there are alarm bells.

Yes I'll go with that Max.
It will be nice to get back to looking at some real signatures for a change!
In the 'good old days' the forgers usually just covered people they could make some quick and easy money from like Hitler, Himmler, Churchill, Stalin. Now we seem to be moving steadily into the 'also rans'.
