My attempt.
She wrote her mother asking her to try and send her green blouse for the execution. I would like to think that she got it.

A Hebrew article on Yad Vashem if I'm not mistaken. The USHMM quotes a part of it here, though not the line about her clothes:

Figured we would get this thread going again. I have a thread at War Relics forum where I share most of my work, but would love to share some here too! I do Allied and Axis photos. Have done work for Veterans and Vets family members as well.

Hi Larry, Its Bill. That's a killer portrait!! Nice work too. Found this thread and figured I'd give it a go, as I saw your work on here. Doesn't seem to be much action on the other forums. I gotta get some more German photos done, as I switched to doing Allied for a while.

US Medics stand over and possible give aid to an unfortunate young soldat. Gruesome but reality. The German seems to have a grenade launcher attachment fitted to his rifle too

Hi Bill,

It is always nice to see your great colorizations. I have seen many photos of wounded, dead bodies and have a few in my collection.
As the photos are B & W one cannot get a true sense of what it must have looked like in true color.

It is important that we who color photos also show the less glamorous side of war. Your colorization is very realistic.
I would say the poor lad in the photo is too far gone or already dead. The medic doesn't seem to be in a hurry to give him aid.

Cheers,
Larry

Same to you my friend. Yeah, I also think the poor German has had it, but didn't have reference to prove it. I also have some of these pics in my collection Ive picked up along the way, but usually have something else going on in the photo, not just close ups of dead. Part of my thinks its wrong to photograph the dead, other part of me thinks it necessary for the general public to see the reality of what happens when our countries sign up for these wars. War isn't pretty, so why try to hide the truth, right!?

One from my collection.....RKT Georg Gruner on right w/ Panzer Regiment 33. Man on left id Dr. Jilkow. (ID'ed by Ludwig Bauer). Major Walter Rodlich can be seen in the background walking away. These photos came to me indirectly from his personal albums.
