Heydebreck IV Camp

#1

Post by Glynnpeters » 04 Jul 2010, 22:10

Hi , I have this letter which is addressed to Heydebreck IV. The person's position seems to read : Arbeitszam Damnitz?? and he is addressed as Herrn. I have googled Heydebreck and there is a Polish Camp of this name but I cannot connect Heydebreck IV to it. ANY help would be appreciated. I have added the picture of the address. Thx.

I would say the cutout that you posted reads:

Arbeitsgem. Chemnitz,
Heydebreck IV
Oberschlesien

Arbeitsgem. would have to stand for Arbeitsgemeinschaft and Chemnitz could refer to the city of Chemnitz.
What I am not sure about in this connection is why it should be addressed to "Herrn" then as you are writing because no name is given. Maybe "Herren" instead? That would go with an Arbeitsgemeinschaft (whatever that really means...)
