Signature is that of Josef Prinner of 340 Infanterie-Division. He finished the war as a Generalleutnant.

Okay, Signature is from Josef Prinner...
Does anyone have any info about the soldier himself, Walter Bartel (Is that First name and Surmane, or First and Second name, and surname is Schwerte)

Thanks in advance!!

His name is Walter Bartel and he lived in Schwerte which is situated in the Ruhr valley. The piece of paper to the right mentions his injuries.

Okay, so right side is about reason why he get the cross, and how he was injured?
My German language is not that good... Could anyone give a small tarnslation about the text in right?? Please!!

With Google... I've found quite much about Prinner, but Nothing about Herrn Bartel!! :(

The extra piece of paper has nothing to do with his Iron Cross. It is a post-war railways insurance document.
You won't find anything out about Bartel unless he won a high end award (which he didn't). He was just one among millions of other soldiers. Maybe members of his family still live in Schwerte.

Thanks!
I Googled with: Walter Bartel, got some communist wanker, who were in jail most of the war... So Iam quite sure, not same person! :D

For Crying Out Loud... That kind of person is found by Google!!
Life (Google Search) is not fair!! :D
Maybe I should write to Google and ask them to "Forget" that person!! :welcome:

Well, Iam planning to take the paper and cross to local "framing" shop... It cost about 60€
So... Walter will have a special place in my apartment!!

Iam NOT selling this, but just out of curiosity, what would be "Correct" Price for that: 2.Klass Cross with papers?
( Iam pretty sure, I dont want to tell, how much I paid!! :D )

Then: I might be selling, IC 2Kl, (No papers), I bought that couple of years ago.

With regards to EK's I only collect award citations so I wouldn't have a clue how much the actual medal is worth. The citation by itself is worth around €60-75.

Well... Let me give U some kind of price rate in FinnishMarkets:
IC2 = Around 50-70€
IC1 = 100+€ (I dont remember how much "I" paid, because my Father asked, what do I want 4 birthday... I gave him a link!! And I got the IC1 :D
IC2 With papers = Around/Over200€ :D

So... I really recommend, If you want to sell German WW2 Militaria, Finland is a good place!! :D
