Thank you so much for all the help!! Wow I have been searching for those for quite some time, amazing you knew the answers so quickly! Thanks again! By any chance do you know how many more times they changed, 2nd Kompanie mainly, from those dates until 1945? Do you know if the last number was the one they used through the Normandy Campaign? Do you have any others for them by any chance? Thanks for the help and take care,

Feb 44 is the last Feldpost-Ordnung (FPN-Registry) that is available. I would think that the numbers didn't change anymore until the end of war.

I came across the following in the memoirs of a german army veteran (supply unit? during 1940/41?. First location during Barbarossa mentioned is Grodno, then Wilna, Lithuania ):

"When writing letters we were only allowed to use the following return adress: 38596."

How do I find out what unit he was with, and to which division it was attached?

i found a nice gaz mask carnister with camouflage paint (40%) complet with name , surname and felposte and it will be very find if somebody wil help me to find in wich compagny and divison it's from this felpost number .
so it's : Obelfeld. Alfred Pamperl Fp.Nr. 16384
i also can send a pics of this gas mask carnisterif somebody request.

Dear experts,

for a friend I'm searching for the unit of Oberleutnant and Kompanie-Chef G. Kriegel
Fp.Nr. 27 701
He was fighting in october 1944 in the area of Napiorki (river Narew) South of Rozan.

Any help is heartily appreciated in advance !
