General question: (I tried to post before but lost my Internet connection while submitting; please forgive if redundant)
I am writing an apolitical novel loosely based on Wernher von Braun's "Project Mars: A Technical Tale". He wrote the book in 1948-9 while in US Army custody at Fort Bliss, Texas after they were through milking him about V 2's but before putting him to work designing ICBM's. (And later spaceships, his real love.) Without revealing plot details, I'm having a mixed crew of scientists, military specialists and (for a while anyway) Party hacks head for Mars to establish a base/colony. The war has temporarily stalemated but there is NO Nazi victory in this book. The mission would involve details of "Women in the Reich", "Life under the Third Reich", "Small Arms", "Other Equipment" and even gardening and general atitudes. Life away from the outside air in cramped quarters would be somewhat like "U-boats". I would really appreciate guidance from those many people on this list who are far more knowledgeable than I. Is this okay?
