Worked for me; click on the little icon between the clock and the cogwheel in the lower right corner.

For some reason, both the subtitles and the transcript are labelled "Deutsch", but it's English indeed.

By the way, not being a native speaker, I'd be happy to receive any hints on possible errors (spelling / grammar etc.) as well as suggestions for corrections or improvements. Note that I didn't translate names, ranks or standard phrases like "Ja" and "Nein".

I'm not sure how the YouTube subtitles work, did you upload a file, a .txt or .sub file or what? I do see the subtitles on the YouTube website but I would like to be able to use them off of that website.

I created an ordinary txt-file, but it was uploaded as a srt-file. How that exactly works, I can't tell. Being conceptually handicapped, I just gave the file to someone who knows such things a lot better than I do. I don't think the subs can be downloaded from youtube, and I don't know if or how they could be added to the mp4-video outside youtube.

The srt file is basically a text file, in fact you can write subs in a .txt file and then simply change the file extension from .txt to .srt and it will work.

I would like to aquire this txt or srt file from you please.

The VLC player, which is free, plays movies (DVD, Youtube, etc., etc.) and you can add the subtitle .srt file and it will play on your TV.

This is all quite simple, if one is technically inclined which I do understand not everyone is able to be, but all this can be found online.

As I cannot upload srt, txt, doc or rtf here, I hope a pdf also does it.

Hello and thank you for your time and effort. Unfortunately, it needs to be an srt or txt file. What you can do is rename your srt or txt file to pdf (when in actual it will still be a txt although named pdf). This way you can upload it here. If not, there are other ways to share this file. I looked at your work and it looks very good. Thanks again.

This didn't work for me, the board still identified the file as txt. But if you just copy the whole pdf text, paste it into a txt-file and rename this file to srt, shouldn't that work?

Sorry, that doesn't work either. Perhaps you can send a PM or email please?

Were you able to convert the PDF to a .srt or .txt file and successfully link it to a download of the movie?

I think "askropp" did an awesome translation (THANK YOU!) and would like to somehow link his translation file to a download of this movie. I repeatedly tried to download the movie from Youtube with this translation and it did not work :-(

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

No, we tried everything and for some reason it doesn't work. He even sent me the .srt file and I could not make it work. I have an extensive array of movie editing software, including subtitle software and have never had a problem.

If someone else wants to give it a try, here is the subtitle software (link below), it is free.
