I have a question about a collar insignia of a k.u.k. officer that I can not identify with certainty. It is person number 2 from the left, the one without the cap:
My first thought was that he was a Leutnant. However, the lighter color and the different dimensions of the collar compared to a regular Leutnant insignia - see the person standing to his right - made me unsure about it. Anyone has any ideas?
And a "bonus" question: what is the army rank of the young man standing to his left, with the two stars (?) in horisontal position on his collar?
The picture shows Austro-Hungarian artillery officers serving on the Turkish front.
