Generalmajor Theodor Schneider-Kostalski

Post by jmark » 04 Jan 2013, 13:03

Hi guys,

Does anybody have any information at all on Austrian Generalmajor Theodor Schneider-Kostalski? I can't find one scrap of information about him. In WW2 he was "ausser Dienst" (retired) but I don't know when he became General. In fact, I know nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the best,
Jason

Thanks for the link. No results for "Kostalski" during a search but there is a Generalmajor von Schneider". Probably not my guy because he was not a "von" but this noble prefix is sometimes incorrectly added to some officers.

Thanks for this info, VJK. I can't believe it is this hard to find information about a general! Do you have any dates for the listings above? Did he fight in WW1?

Thanks again
Jason

Hi Jason,

Unfortunately, what I posted is literally all the info I have on this General. As you say, it's hard to believe that there is no more available out there.

Best regards,

VJK

Jason,

Oberst Theodor Schneider-Kostalski commanded Radfahrbataillon Wien Nr. 2 from 1 October 1922 until 21 June 1923. He retired as a Titular (brevet) Generalmajor. He had previously commanded the Infanterietruppenschule from 1 December 1920.

He was the last wartime commander of Feldjäger-Bataillon Nr. 5 from October 1917 to November 1918. Promoted to Oberstleutnant on 1 .11.17.

Regards
Glenn
