Polish Soldiers in WW1

#1

Post by AmYisroelChai » 25 Jun 2014, 05:50

I have been doing some research into Polish soldiers fighting in WW1. Apparently there were many Polish units in the Russian Czarist army, as Russia controlled most of Poland in 1914. There were also Polish army units that joined the Austro-Hungarian army, fighting against the Russians and Italians. And there was an "independent" Polish national army led by Josef Pilsudski that was fighting for an independent Polish nation. Can anyone post information and sources as to these three armies, their uniforms, battles, etc. Thank you all for an interesting forum...

Polish Army created in France was called a Blue Army. Uniforms were actually more into light purple than firm blue...
