Need help with uniform button identification.

Postby kozerozec on 01 Jun 2011 11:45

Hello,
I would like to ask some help with the identification of the button I found 30 kilometers near Prague, Czech Republic. I dont know what country of origin of this button may be: Germany? Austria? I get some opinions from few peoples, they timed this button to WW1; probably German. But personally, I think this is Austro-Hungarian - because of "number 2" typical shape and because of edge rim. I will be thankful for any information about the button.

I have several WW 1 German Co. numbered buttons, including a #2, and while they are similiar, the number style is very differant.....I wouldn't know about Austo./Hungarian or an other European buttons....but not German unless it dates back earlier than WW 1 ....

A.-H. button /gold!/ with number 2 (for ex. see http://buttonarium.eu/szczegoly.php?id=3240 ) can belong to
Böhmisches Feldjägerbataillon Nr.2 or else Gandarmerieabteileungskommando Nr.2 Böhmen Prag.
