The great Max Immelmann. Germany's first air ace, and the first man to earn the Pour le Merite, which is forever known as The Blue Max, after Max Immelmann. The Kaiser personally presented his Blue Max at the same time with the other giant of early German air combat, the great Oswalde Boelke. Immelmann was known as The Eagle of Lille, and an aerobatic maneuver which he pioneered, was named after him - The Immelmann Turn.
