Top image looks like a German 10,5cm leFH 98/09 with the barrel and recoil slide missing - not certain but it's the best match imho.

The bottom image is Austro-Hungarian - an 8cm FK M05 - with the top and bottom sections of the gun shield missing. The 8cm calibre was the nominal A-H calibre - it was in fact 76.5mm.

Charlie

I think it's the sole 30.5cm Beta i.R prototype heavy howitzer built by Krupp 1910-1912. This gun and all the rest of the German Siege artillery are in Mark Romanych's book on "42cm Big Bertha and German Siege Artillery of WW1".

That is a 28cm howitzer L/14 i.R. Only one was built and employed.

Thank you for your answers, Charlie and Marc.

I think Marc are right about 28cm Krupp L14 howitzer. I've only seen another photo of this howitzer from another angle and it is difficult to confirm 100%.....

With all due respect I must dissent.

Although the 28cm L/14 and 30.5cm Beta i.R are very similar looking guns the gun shields are noticeably different. The 28cm has a simple squared off top to the gun shield whereas the 30.5cm Beta has cut outs on the top corners of the shield. In the original image you can't really see a cutout on the side nearest the camera since the shield is almost edge on, on the far side there is a distinct cutout in the corner of the shield.

Charlie

Hello,

I am sorry, but the photograph depicts the 28 cm Haubitze L/14.
The sides of the mounting of the 30,5 cm Haubitze L/17 i.R have a main difference, this Howitzer had (as the 42 cm) stenghened side cheeks.
I have under the eyes some 20 photographs of the 30,5 cm taken between 1915 to 1917 and 2 of the 28 cm L/14 and I think that the above photograph is a 28 cm L/14.
Yours sincerely,
Guy François.

Hi all,

This is the only another image that I have of an 28cm Krupp L14 howitzer. It seems to coincide

To compare, here some images of the 30.5cm Haubitze L17 i.R. howitzer
