Hi Sturm78,

It´s is difficult without an opportunity to compare the dimension. Could be 10,5-cm, 15-cm or bigger?
Only the height of the parapet provide as an indication. Due to this I would assume 10,5-cm SK L/40

Cheers Holger

I would agree about it being a 10.5cm, the housing is very similar to many naval mounts, and even to the similar naval 15.0cm guns as fitted in the 1920's and 30's, but as to what Mk or anything I have no idea. At a guess I would go with a 10.5 as it was a more common 'spare' gun that could be fitted in coastal defence.

Hello Sturm78 ,
Your gun from 19 Nov 2016 is an 15 cm SKL /40 in M.P.L C/ 97 in
the German Beseler battery . Same gun :

http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... &start=165

The clue is the thick casemate shield . It can be mixed with 15 cm SKL/45 in
M.P.L. C/1906 and M.P.L. C/1913 .
But the shield houses for 10,5 cm and 15 cm can be difficult to indentify .

Ludvig,

I agree that the gun on the picture of 19 Nov 2016 is a 15 cm SK L/40 but I think it is from Batterie Kaiserin in Blankenberghe. See the same gun below (note that the bottom armored plate has been removed).
Blankenberghe2.jpg
There is another post-WW1 postcard that shows the same gun (with the bottom armored plate still in place) but at Mariakerke. I think it is incorrect and it should be Blankenberghe.

Hi,

There are a couple of pictures of this weapon on the Landships forum;

http://ww2photo.se/gun/d/ha/15cm%20k16.htm

Also some close ups of a similar gun, and if you scroll down a gun in Northead, Sydney that looks very similar too;

Sturm78,

The gun looks to me like one of the 75 mm Schneider mountain guns for export but I don't know which one (Guy François would recognize it for sure). The soldiers' uniforms seem to be Mexican except for the first officer standing on the left whose uniform looks French. :idea:

Thank you, Emmanuel

The Schneider company developed a large number of guns for export and it is difficult to differentiate them....

I now think that the soldiers are from a South American country like Bolivia or Peru, not Mexico. But the uniform of the officer on the left is definitely French.
