A thank you to those on the forum who helped in my research during the writing of my book America's U-boats, Terror Trophies of World War I. The book has finally appeared from the University of Nebraska Press and is available on Amazon.

The book tells the story of the six U-boats surrendered to America after the war.

Good luck with your book. I'll spread news of it to some other groups.

I imagine you're aware that the captured U-boats made a major contribution to the development of the very successful U.S. "fleet" submarines of World War II.

Thank you William. These U-boats made a significant contribution to American submarine development. Incidentally, the American skipper on one of the U-boats (UC-97) during its exhibition cruise was Charles Lockwood, later Admiral Lockwood, Commander of Submarine Force Pacific Fleet during World War II.
