German naval enlisted fighter pilots
I am curious if German naval enlisted men and petty officers were allow to become fighter pilots during World War I just like their counterparts in the German Imperial Air Service or was the German Naval Fighter Branch was restricted to officers only?

Re: German naval enlisted fighter pilots
hi,
I'm not sure about "fighters" but there were enlisted men and petty officers as pilots, see the list of fatal accidents in this link (sorry, it's in German, scroll down)

Yes they were see the book "The Jasta Pilots" which does contain some errors but it does list the pilots of the MFJs (Marine Feld Jastas).
