Think about tanks and generals, in that order.

I guess no one comes up with something like a good guess with this one. My only guess is that the quite glamorous building served as a headquarters connected some way to the history of tank warfare in SCW.

Yes, that's the answer. During the war "El Capricho" was first a base for the Tank Brigade and later housed the headquarters of the Ejército del Centro.

Name a least three commanders of the Abraham Lincoln Battalion if not more. This should hopefully be relatively easy.

Correct! These are the three most prominent commanders of the Abraham Lincoln Battalion, though there were others. Your turn!

Thanks, the next one should be rather easy for those interested in the airwar history of SCW.

All aircraft of the Spanish Nationalist air force received a code number according to their type. What were the aircraft that received the type code numbers 1, 2 and 3?

Quick answer! Well, that was quite easy. Perhaps the next one will be a bit more difficult? But hopefully not too difficult... Over to You, Ironmachine.

On that same subject, what were the aircraft that received the type code numbers 1W, 2W and 3W in the National aviation?

I think that "W" code had something to do with the planes originated from the Republican air force?
Thus following "W" codes of National aviation were designated to following aircraft:
1W = Polikarpov I-16
2W = Polikarpov I-15
3W = Letov S 231

The "W" codes were used for captured aircraft. You have identified correctly the aircraft using the codes "1W" and "3W", but you are mistaken regarding the identity of "2W". However, as there is no much interest, you can go on with the quiz.
Regarding "2W", this code was not used by the I-15, which again the regulations employed the code "8" (without "W") which has previously been used by the He 112 V-9. The code "2W" was used only by the Polikarpov I-15B "Supercurtiss".

OK, thanks. Hopefully some newcomers will find this quiz and participate. Now it is time to look for the human side of the Spanish Civil War. Like the current war in Syria also the Spanish Civil War forced very many people to leave their home and country. The risk of being caught at the "wrong side" could be deadly serious at both sides. While seeking refuge some people turned to the foreign embassies in Madrid. During the autumn of 1936 foreign embassies in Madrid received big numbers of Spanish refugees who sought a safe haven protected by foreign flag. Which of the foreign embassies received the biggest number of Spanish refugees in Madrid during the Spanish Civil War and how many they (approximately) were in this case?

The embassy of Chile. The most usual number of refugees given by different sources is about 2,000 in total in the different buildings of the embassy.
