Major Ritter von Schleich's role in J/88

Post by Darren J. Whiteside » 06 Aug 2003, 04:13

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the position or job(s) held by Major Eduard Ritter von Schleich (born: August 9, 1888) while he was assigned to the Legion Condor in Spain (sometime in 1937). I have read that he was helping to evaluate the new Me 109B aircraft that had just arrived in theatre. He was assigned to JG 234 that same year (August 1937). That's about all I know. Any thoughts or good ideas about sources would be highly welcomed.

regards,

Darren

I don't know the answer to that question, Darren. But because of your book on von Schleich I would like to ask you about something else. I may have found a picture of him taken in January 1915 at the Western Front with some American war reporters. You may be able to identfy him.
