A hint might be useful - has the building connection with Nationalists or Republicans?

In a sense with both, but probably it should be best to say that it has connection with the Nationals.

The SCW covered a lot of territory. Maybe some rough geographic coordinates of the general area could help us to sight in on the building more accurately.

 That narrows it down a bit. Did I mention Granada before?

Yes, you mentioned Granada before. It was not there the first time you mentioned it, and it is not there now either.
In fact, my previous hint narrows it down much more than you probably think.
But if you are still not convinced, I will give another hint: the relevance of this building with regards to the SCW was a one-time event. After that, it did not have any special significance in the war.

I have visited couple of SCW-related places in Spain but I do not remember this one nor I have found a photo of this anywhere. Thus it is just a guess that gen. Emilio Mola has something to do with historical event in the building. If it is not him, I guess that some other well known Nationalist military figure like gen. Gonzalo Queipo de Llano was inside the building when the historical event took place.

The location is in continental Spain, I guess. Canary Islands, Baleares, Ceuta and Melilla ruled out. Forget also Granada, Toledo and Madrid.

Perhaps we should approach this on a regional basis, durb. We may get there eventually. Ironmachine, is this building located in Andalucía?

No, Mola had nothing to do with it (other than his general involvement in the SCW).
No, Queipo de Llano was not inside the building when the event took place.
The location is not in continental Spain (which of course rules out Andalucía).

No. Spanish Morocco was not Spain, and I said the building was located in Spain.

Based on the above I'd venture a guess that the building played some role in the July 1936 coup but I don't know what. Perhaps a Republican Government administration building that was siezed by the Nationalists?
Cheers,
Max
