For the case of RTA, it has been expanded into 2 Armies (Phayap Army in the North and the 2nd Army in BKK) - and the personnel had been increased to 100000 men according to the plan by Colonel Nate Khemayothin (Staff of RTA) in Year 1943. Since the Siamese Mauser were not enough for 100000 men, RTA started to use Arisaka Typoe 38 (AKA Type 83 Rifle), Type 96 LMG (AKA Type 83 LMG) and Type 92 HMG from IJA in addition to the 81-mm motar.

More details will come later.

//-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Initial Number of Phayap Army were 32,959 men

Logistic of Food is quite a problem - the 3rd Div has to hoarded all avaiable salty beef + salty fish along with sticky rice in the marker for at least 3 days to carry be Army personel of 3rd Div. before takign a special train from Nakhon Ratchasima to Lampang since the Army canned food + rice may come late. Furthermore, the 3rd has to recruited al avaiable trucks in Isan (200-400 trucks) to carry army men and heavy weapon to the base in Phayao and Chaign Rai.... This required to give the NCO ranks for the owners and drivers of those trucks ... but soem of htem have repalce the good spare parts with the old and worn out spare parts so ONLY 50% trucks were servicable.

Once the 3rd Div has seized Kentung, men of 3rd Div had to help local people to remove husk out of the rice + 100000 kg of rice form Leper Hospital in Kentung ... Furthermore, the hilltribes has sold hogs, chickens eggs, lizards, frogs, honey, tamarine and bamboo shoots as food ... but need to be paid in Silver Rupee (4-6 Baht per 1 silver rupee) ... Salt was so exepnsive - 80-86 Baht/sack = 1 Baht of gold (15 gram) ... enough for a virgin bride ...

However, Thai Army fear malaria more than bullets of KMT forces ... at least 70% of the 3rd Div suffered from Malaria .. and daily death by Malaria is a norm ... the 3rd Div has to run the printing press to print MPC notes - 1 baht, 5 Baht, 10 Baht for Army personnels and 100 Baht for Army Units since Army treasury cannot send money to battlefields fast enough ... To get hard currency (Silver rupees or golden sheets) to feed Army, the 3rd Div had to run an Opium den + Opium Distriller by borrowign personnel form Excise tax dept to run the Opium distriller ...

Durign the war in Shan state, RTA had learnt very hard lesson that the cavalry units are unti suitable for the terrain like Shan state - the rainy climate has caused sickness for btoh cavalrymen as well as a the horses ... esp the 1st Cavary unit which use the Horses imported from Australia before the wars ... even the local ponies could not be breeded fast enough to replace the dead Australian horses ... at one point cavalrymen have to carry the hourse seats sicne their own horses were eitehr dead or too sick to allow cavalrymen to ride ...

This was compelled RTA to withdrow much of the cavalry units back to Thailand and in Octoebr 1943, RTA has to dissolved the Cavalry division and move the 35th Cavalry Regiment (the 3rd Cavalry battalion and the 5th Cavalry battalion) to Roy Ed in Isan region to replenish the stock whiel he rest went back to theri orginal places - leaving ONLY the 6th Cavalry Battalion to be in Shan state.

For transpration, the muddy roads compelled RTA to create Road Construction using existing Army engineers unit and the local labors to constuct the road by using elephants, burning boulder and poiuring the water into the red hot boulder teo open the way and get qarry - alogn with improvie bamboo trestles to alwo the trucks to go ...

Even truck are of the poor state - there wwre 25-30 truck but only 2-5 trusk were usable at any rate ... so the ox carts and elephants were the only avaible alternative.
The sick army men had to walk alogn the ox carts since the rough route causing bone shakign pain ...

There were also the troop transfers when there is a creation of the 2nd army and 7th division using the Youth soldiers as well as the existign reserved forces.

By the end of the war, ther was the 37th Division to help Serithai to fight against IJA usign the new weapons from Allied Forces.

More details would follow soon.

Durign the fighting, Phayp Army has created the 17th Inf. Reg. (Battelfield) to help the situation which consisted of

1. The 32nd Inf. Bat. from Nakhon Sawan - taken from the 2nd Inf. reg.
2. The 35th Inf. Bat. from Chiang Mai
3. The 39th Inf. Bat. from Nakhon Srithammaraj
Note: the regular HQ for the 17th Inf. Reg.) - leaving the 40th Inf. Bat. (Trang) to protect
the Reg. HQ in Nakhon Srithamaraj.

In 1942, RTA decided to dissolve the 15th Inf. Reg. in Rajburi and designated the 37th Inf. Bat. (Rajburi)
and the 45th Inf. Bat. (Phetburi) to be under the jurisdiction of the 2th Inf. Reg. - Leaving ONLY the 38th Inf. Bat.
to Protect Chumporn

//-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In 1943, RTA has created The 2nd Army (Lopburi) which consisted of
- the 1st Div (Chiang Rak) consisted of
-the 1st Inf. Reg.
- The 1st Inf. Bat. (Royal Guard) (BKK)
- The 3rd Inf. Bat. (BKK)
- The 9th Inf. Bat. (BKK)
-the 2nd Inf. Reg.
- The 2nd Inf. Bat. (BKK)
- The 7th Inf. Bat. (BKK)
- The 37th Inf. Bat. (Rajburi)
- The 45th Inf. Bat. (Phetburi)
- 1st Cavalary Bat. (Moved out of Phayap Army after dissolvign the 12th Cal. Reg)
- 1st Artillery Bat.
-the 7th Div (Loppburi) consisted of
-the 19th Inf. Reg. (Bua Chum, Chai Badan)
- The 58th Inf. Bat. (Bua Chum, Chai Badan)
- The 59th Inf. Bat. (Bua Chum, Chai Badan)
-the 20th Inf. Reg. (Lom Sak)
- The 60th Inf. Bat. (Lom Sak)
- The 61st Inf. Bat. (Lom Sak)
-the 21st Inf. Reg. (Wang Chomphoo in Lom Kao)
- The 62nd Inf. Bat. (Wang Chomphoo in Lom Kao)
- The 63rd Inf. Bat. (Wang Chomphoo in Lom Kao)
- The 64th Inf. Bat. (Wang Chomphoo in Lom Kao)
- the 12th Inf. Reg (Move out of Phayap Army back to Nakhon Sawan) consisted of
- the 28th Inf. Bat. (Nakhon Sawan)
- the 65th Inf. Bat. - from Youth Army Unit (Chula & Thammasart) - (Nakhon Sawan)

- the 6th Inf. Reg (Move out of Phayap Army back to Phitsanuloke) consisted of
- the 29th Inf. Bat. (Phitsanuloke) - separated from the 12th Inf. Reg
- the 66th Inf. Bat. - from Youth Army Unit (Chula & Thammasart) - (Nakhon Sawan)
-the 67th Inf. Bat. -from Youth Army Unit (Chula & Thammasart) - (Tak)

This implied that ONLY the 33th Inf. bat, (Reserved Forces), the 12th Inf. Reg still in Phayap Army.

The tough weather really a big bane to Cavalry men - to see theri horses perish before the actual fighting - forcing the early dissolution of the Cavalry Division while moving the 35th Cavalry Regimen to Roy Ed and the 1st Cavlary battalion (Royal Guard usign Australan Stallons) back to BKK.

Nevertheless, RTA has created the 11th Heavy Machine Gun Battalion (can use Type 76 Anti Aircraft with Armour Cars) for Phayap Army as the replacement for the struck out Cavalry Unit ... alogn with the 1st Machine Gun Battalion and the 2nd machine Gun Battalion .. alogn with the 27th Artillery bat. anf the 29th Artillery Bat.
