Re: HMAS Sydney II OP RESOLUTION
Progress Update.
Six HSK Komoran survivors settled in Australia after the War.
I have been notified all have passed on from old age.
HSK Kormoran Bill Elmecker, Ponting St Tatura Victoria passed away 3 years ago.
He has left a statement with his Lawyer.
Lawyer said " just letting you know , Bill was a great bloke and an upstanding member of the Local Community here "
Looking for Herman Ortmans Dandenongs Victoria .
" Herman the German " as was his local nickname.
Altmans in West Australia.
Somebody in the Blue Mountains Sydney with two sons who are NSWPOL Sargeants.
The RSL and the Royal Australian Navy have hit the roof re my enquiry about the HSK Kormoran Australian survivors families here.
' They are Australian Citizens and have done no wrong.'
I agree with them.
Issue is the unresolved warcrime from 19th November 1941.
Situation is tense etc.
