Here's an alternative scenario:

Like Australia, Canada has a city called Sydney.

In 1941 the Member of Parliament for Sydney was a forceful personality of Dutch ancestry, Jan “Hook of” Holland.

Holland was anxious to have one of the corvettes under construction in Canada named HMCS Sydney, but the RCN won’t do this because there was a HMAS Sydney.

Princess Juliana, heir to the Dutch throne, lived in Canada during WW2 and Holland blackmailed her. It is not clear how he did this, since his diary is still classified, at the highest classification level ever used in Canada: TOP SECRET AND MOST SCANDALOUS – NO FOREIGN RELEASE EVER – ESPECIALLY NOT TO AUSTRALIA. However, it’s as certain as it can be in any drug-inspired fantasy that Holland forced Juliana to arrange for the Dutch to sink HMAS Sydney.

It was decided that a Dutch submarine should be ordered to do the dirty deed. The sealed orders from Juliana were delivered to the submarine’s commander by HMCS Prince Robert, during its voyage to Hong Kong transporting two Canadian infantry battalions.

The Dutch submarine tried to pass itself off as I-67, not realizing that this sub had been lost in an accident.

The Dutch SIGINT centre in the NEI, Kamer 14, could read both the German and the RN/RAN codes, and learned in advance of the time and position at which HMAS Sydney would encounter Kormoran. The Dutch submarine got there first and torpedoed the Australian ship as soon as he Geman ship opened fire.

Strangely enough,

(Sorry, must answer the door. It’s my methadone.)

-------------------------------

P.S., I'd like to stress that I don't make light of the loss of Sydney and the above is simply a vehicle for satirizing crazy conspiracy theories about it.

Hello Tom.

Thankyou for your reply.

There are no file references available at present for the correct truthful accounts.

Australia has no complete paperwork for the HMAS Sydney II total loss.

The likelihood of the real references being available to anyone off the street in the UK is extremely low.

However , thank you for your offer.

If you could check which mariners were buried / reburied on the West Australian coast please.

Allegedly , [ and normally appropriate ] their dog tag ID's were removed prior to the secret burial / reburials.

The Royal Australian Navy component [ only 628 ] are still listed as ' missing '.

If you could find that list , then the HMAS Sydney II relatives could be notified.

Its 74 years soon.

Thankyou in advance.

David Angwin.

There are no file references available at present for the correct truthful accounts.
Then what evidence do you have that they exist?

Not only is the original poster seriously disturbed, he's also seriously wimpy if he reckons 16 knots of wind kicks up such a bad seaway.... :D
