When a local school official asked if I'd like to interview Louis Zamperini, she didn't have to ask twice.

Mr. Zamperini was a member of my VFW post 1622, in Lomita Ca.
The local airport in Torrance is named after him, Zamperini Field
By the time I had joined the post, Mr. Zamperini's visits were far and few between, as age and health were catching
up.
It is sad that now we have no WW2 veterans at the post, as I always enjoyed sitting and talking to them
not only about their "war" but about their lives after..
