Hi all
I trying to find out more information on the Pre WW2 Army Barracks in Ipoh. I know there is a large Malaysian army camp in Ipoh now, inherited from the British Army of the Malayan conflict, along Jalan Hospital, formerly Ashby Road.

Does anyone know exactly where the pre-war barracks were, and how large were they, I’d guess they were part of the Ashby camp, am I right?

Pre Dec 7th 1941, the 28th Indian Infantry Brigade, (all three battalions being Gurkha’s) was headquartered there, commanded by Brigadier Carpendale, with at least one battalion.
