Searching for source for American and British tank losses in

Postby Politician01 on 21 Sep 2012 22:43

German and Soviet losses are quite easy to get as well as allied ship and aircraft losses - but I cant find any sources on Allies tank losses.

One number I stumbled upon claims some 7000 US and some 15 000 British Tanks/Spgs were lost in Europe (NA not counted?) but I failed to identify the book/link/document from where it is taken.

Has anyone a reliable source on this?

The 15,000 figure for the British is the total number of tanks lost in WW2 not just in Europe.

Be careful of how "lost" is defined when searching for this info. Many allied tanks were repaired after being "knocked out" so just how they are included can have a big impact on the numbers.
