The goal of this thread is to compile a list of towns, regions etc that has changed name since the war, to be included on the site.
I'm primarily thinking of the German areas handed over to other countries post-war, and the list should also include the country that it is currently a part of.

I doubt it is possible to include every town, area, forest, river etc that had its name changed, but I think even a (very) incomplete list could be a very useful research tool, in particular when looking for locations in the East on present-day maps.
