German handwriting dechipering

#1

Post by Dimitrii » 27 Jul 2015, 21:26

Hello,

I'd like to start this thread to post some texts in the same handwriting that I can almost not read.

Here's the first one. I read: II. Geschütz ... mein Zugführer... 1939?

What I think I read.
It would help to see the picture, as I could be completely off.

Thanks a lot, nichte!

Yes, for better comparison I will add photos from now on.

Not too sure, but that's what I came up with.
Others may fill in.

correction to IMG 0002: looking at it again, I think it rather says "Dein Vater".

Thanks for your nice words, Dimitrii! :)
Remember to take my deciphering with a grain of salt; as one wrongly identified letter could put a whole different meaning to a word!
I’ll try my best, though. :)

Wow, thanks a lot Hiltraut! I try to scan the photos as well. When you are in Belgium, please let me know so I can by some Pralines deluxe for you

The next picture is taken in Russia, I assume that is the name of the place on top of the text. Could it be Staraya?
