Help with Himmler's writing

#1

Post by GregSingh » 15 Apr 2014, 10:08

Hello,
I have this Himmler's text translated as:

Möge die Zeitung immer eingedenk
sein, daß sie das Organ des Gaues ist,
der nun Arbeiten her germanisch u. deutsch
wer uns nun für alle, ewige Zukunft
wieder deutsch werden wird.

But I have serious doubts about "Arbeiten" as I can't really see "b".
Any ideas???

Thanks,
Greg

Greg,

I think you did a masterful job without much to compare. I think the word is "Urzeiten"

Möge die Zeitung immer eingedenk
sein, daß sie das Organ des Gaues ist,
das von Urzeiten her germanisch u. deutsch
war und nun für alle, ewige Zukunft
wieder deutsch werden wird

Even better now, but I am not convinced about "das von". Looks like "der von" to me.
There is "des" just above and ending "s" is quite different???

Of course it´s "der von", Greg. Sorry for my confusion. Meant is "der Gau, who was since primeval times germanic and german".
