Good job, history1, as always!
The village belonged to Germany until 1945 when the Poles annexed
Red Army liberated/annexed it as early as January/February, I think. Poles had nothing to do with it! :D

Or maybe rather they were given the territories. Some the Polish politicians liked that, especially the communists, and many thought that a part of those territories should have been annexed as a punishment for the war, and they were rightfully Polish anyway. But I think most of the common people didn't want such gifts, reasoning that Germany was not a country to be insulted like that with impunity.

I assume that Poland wasn´t mad that they got former German land as alternative for the land they lost to the Sovietunion.
Please let us NOT talk about this matter here further as it´s OT.
