I don't know what is showing on the other side of photo number 1 but it's maybe possible that it is a picture token at the Ordensburg-Vogelsang
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordensburg_Vogelsang.
Sorry for my poor english.
Kindly regards from Belgium

Andy
it´s a memory of a soldier who got accomodated, not a fellow soldier. I suggest to translate it as
"In lasting memory of your billeted soldier, Andreas Siegel, France - January 12th 1941"

Roman,
Thanks for the correction! Makes sense, especially as he used the formal form when referring to the recipient.

Is there a lake on the photo without the number?
Could be misspelled Gardasee - Garbassee - Lake Garda in northern Italy - in the brackets.
