Help request with some small german sentences

#1

Post by james37 » 09 Feb 2015, 23:11

Hi guys I need your help to translate in english these two sentences:

1) << Gen. Kdo. übernimmt Betr.Stofflager Bulle in 15/32 mit 15 cbm Otto. Durch Armeekolonne werden weitere 15 cbm Otto zugeführt. >>

I know that "15/32" was the name of a place however I don't know the meaning of 15 cbm Otto and so I wasn;t able to understand this sentence.

2) << Am 9.9.43 14:30 Uhr, überbreite der Uffz. Pieper, Div. St. Qu., folgende schriftliche Meldung des Wm. Schikowski der am 8.9.43 den Auftrag erhalten hatte, das Verstärkeramt 58/16 zu besetzen und zu sichern.>>

3) Uffz. Piper meldete, dass nach dem Abzug der deutschen Truppen aus 58/16 der Ort von der Italienischen Wehrmacht in Starke von ungefähr 200 Mann besetz wurde. Der Trupp des Wm. Schikowski ist 6 Mann stark dazu 1 Petr. Trupp (8 Mann).>>

With the sentences 2nd and the 3d I wasn't able to understand the situation with all of these abbreviations. I only know that "Qu." it is the section of supplies of the German Army.

Thank you very much ! :)

Otto or Ottokraftstoff is just petrol or gasoline. So 15 cbm Otto is just 15 cubic meters of petrol.

Uffz. (Unteroffizier) was Pieper's rank, Div. St. Qu. was his function (Division Stab Quartiermeister)
Wm (Waffenmeister?) was Schikowski's function.

Rest is straightforward.

Hi GregSingh,
thank you very much for your help. In the first sentence I only miss "Betr." because I don't know what it means, I forget to say that in my prevous post. The rest of sentence is now clear.

In the second sentence the meaning is that the Unteroffizer Pieper, Chief of the Supply Department, on 9.9.43 at 14.30 o'clock execute the written order of Waffenmeister Schikowski of 8.8.43. Is it correct ?

Instead in the third sentence Unteroffizer Pieper reported that the place was already occupied by soldiers of Italian Army and the "Trupp" of Waffenmeister Schikowski had only six man and and another "Trupp" had only eight man.

However what does "1 Petr." abbreviation means ?

Thank you !

Hi James,

"Betr.Stofflager" = Betriebsstofflager = operating fluids/working materials/supplies - storehouse

Agree

Waffenmeister is "Waffm. and not Wm., it´s "Wachtmeister", an NCO rank in artillery and cavalry units.
Div. St. Qu = Divisionsstabsquartier = divisions headquarter

Thank you very much history1 for your informations. So Div.St.Qu. was not the office of supply as I thought at first but it was the Division Headquarters. I understand now.
