Old photo translation needed

Hello everyone! I'm trying to learn as much about this photo as I can. Maybe the back of it holds some clues....

transl " In Toruń (Poland) at the town hall, July 1941. As remembrance on my father"

Maybe the 2nd sentence is better translated with "In memory of my father".
Tough I don´t recognise a similarity in the building.

I believe it is "The Collegium Maximus" building at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń it looks more familiar!

Awesome find! I tried yesterday to localise the building based on the caption(town hall in English and Polish) but to no avail. Whoever wrote the caption got it wrong as this building never housed the town hall.
Sadly Google maps doesn´t allow a street view from the same angle, so I took a copy and marked the position of the man with a yellow cross:

The caption on the photo is definitely false, is not the town hall of Thorn but the Reichsbank building.

It seems the caption is definitely wrong! Thank you both for helping get to the truth. It is a beautiful building with a interesting history. I'm glad the building has survived many years. I'm hoping to take a trip to Poland soon and it would be interesting to get a picture in the same spot!
