I would be very appreciative if someone would kindly translate this Red Cross postcard sent from a Gulag camp (Lager 3604) in the USSR by German PoW, Hans Steinhorst to his wife in Germany—dated April 1949. Hans Steinhorst, was released in June 1949. This postcard was the last sent before Hans Steinhorst was released and returned to his wife Germany. Hans managed to send a postcard almost every week during his time in various Soviet camps. The final communication was a telegram from Hans to his wife saying when he was due home. Grateful thanks in advance
Below: Deutsche Riech kennkarte for Frau Käthe Steinhorst. She worked as an usherette in a local cinema during WWII.
Below: A small hand-engraved aluminium trinket box with a photo of Hans upon his release (or shortly thereafter, it is dated 5 June 1949) together with the collection of Red Cross postcards sent by Hans to his wife. The lid is inscribed with the dates are 10.5.1945 - 5.6.1949

Re: Translation of Red Cross card sent from Gulag camp in the USSR?
Hello,
----------
Dearest Käthe, Moni, Hanne and Peter (he used nicknames and diminutives for his wife and kids),
On your birthday, I accept your best wishes and blessings. Especially today, I would rather have personally held you close to my heart and given you a tender birthday kiss. Nevertheless, keep your chin up!
The newspapers say that more and more trains carrying returnees are rolling out and hopefully soon it will be my turn. Due to a change of address, it has been 7 weeks without any mail from you, darling. If all goes well I will receive the many missing letters. Your garden must be doing wonderfully now. We had a white Easter. On Easter Sunday there was a light covering of snow, but spring has definitely started. With the nice weather comes increasing homesickness as well. I really hope, as you must too, that our wish to see each other again will come true very soon.
Counting on the journey home each and every day, and completely healthy, your dad and husband sends greetings and kisses to you all.
