Help needed - Ukrainian, Russian or ??

#1

Post by seaburn » 25 Oct 2015, 21:27

I have previously tried to translate a Ukrainian document but could only partially do it as some of the text had letters that I could not find on my Ukrainian or Russian typeface. For example, the last letter on the piece I've attached below. It left me wondering if this was a local dialect or a local way of writing the more familiar Russian and Ukrainian symbols differently - can someone who is familiar with both languages, confirm what language it is and if possible give me pointers on how best to translate it. ! Tks

This is just one part of the document I need to translate - there are others which are interspersed between text that I am able to translate myself.

It's the most standard Russian. The only irregular thing is that the font uses handwritten style b, g, d and t instead of usual printed style letters. That is the problem probably.

Hi 'GS' so that letter at the very end of my attachment would actually be the one on the top right of your alphabet posted above ? If that's the case, then I should be able to decipher all the text myself hopefully. Tks for your help as usual !!

It is ordinary "курсив" ( or Italic type) https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9A%D1 ... 0%B8%D0%B2
