3rd photo. Your text is correct, the location is "Litzmannstadt" = Lodz, Poland

Could the French location be Eigenthal (part of Walscheid in Lothringen/Lorraine)?

Hello,
M J C wrote: I suspect it is a location in Norway
perhaps: Haltejause in/im St. Fin

Jause: Austrian German for Pause = pause
St.: perhaps Stützpunkt or Station or Store/Stora [Norwegian for big]
Fin: perhaps Fyn, a village at the entrance of the Oslo Fjord.

Thanks for that, a little more information is always good, I was tying to find the Norway photo location using the first word, thinking it was a place name! But not surprisingly no luck.

Can anyone please help with some more captions on photos into the German?
I have reason to suspect they are connected with 21 Panzer Division.

? ? bei? juin? 44 bei? valenciennes?

Also a number (mostly of German officers) all have the same caption 2 of which are shown below.

I think it's Mai 44 on all photos.

Pz. Prüfung
bei der Armee?
Mai 44
bei Valenciennes

The other word looks like Frankreich to me.

Greg
Thanks that is most helpful, the caption makes sense as some are of driving Renault UEs at a training area. Some show a Kleiner Funk- und Beobachtungspanzer (UE). All are dated May 44
