Herbert Otto Gille], suggests he was originally recommended for this award and the Ehrenblatt-Spange des Heeres; "Anerkennungsurkunde des Führers" is lined out, leaving only the Ehrenblatt-Spange dees Heeres, however on the bottom of the page is the handwritten notation "Anerk. Urkunde: 25.12.44")
