Well, for those who are interested: The info can be found in Mark Yerger's GCiG-series Volume 3. This time Mark was just able to fool me because I was looking for the info from his latest (and best) Volume 7 of the GCiG-series.
A short summary.
1. Promotion dates:
12 Aug 1934....SS-Untersturmfuhrer
10 Mar 1935....SS-Obersturmfuhrer
20 Apr 1936?...SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer (I cann't remember where I found this date)
01 Sep 1940....SS-Sturmbannfuhrer
21 Jun 1943....SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer
30 Jan 1945....SS-Standartenfuhrer

2. Award dates:
?

3. Date of birth / date of death / SS number

4. Other commands
It seems that he was in command of Radolfzell several times. The last command was from late 1944 to at least February 1945.

So there are many conflicts between the dates, the most obvious being his promotion to SS-Obersturmführer and the end of his assignment with III./Germania.

In a 19.6.1942 Beurteilung written from Tr.Üb.Pl. "Debica" :

B. fand im SS-IR 9 als Bataillons-Kommandeur Verwendung.

So Willy Braun was commander of III./SS-IR 9 during the period running from 15.4.42 to 23.12.42 !

Some comments:
28 Nov 1934 - 01 May 1938...New info for me!
01 May 1938 - 01 Dec 1938...New info for me!
Some of the conflicting dates might have a logical explenation. Could it be possible that while he was attached to the Stab of "Germania" (01 Dec 1938 - 04 Jun 1940) he was given the task of establishing the Ersatz-Bataillon of "Germania"? While doing this it was logical that he also was it's first commander. After he had succesfully established the Ersatz-Bataillon in early May 1940 and he had the necessary experience he was given a similar task of establishing the new I/"Nordland" while still in the Stab of "Germania". Does this make sense?
17 May 1935.....................Dienststellung. Possible explenation: Braun was the CO of his company from 28 Nov 1934 but that company became part of the new Bataillon in 17 May 1935?
10 Feb 1941.....................Didn't III/SS-Standarte "K" become III/SS-Infanterie-Regiment 9.
01 Aug 1941 - 16 Jan 1942....Between these dates I Bataillon was commanded by Franz Augsberger (10 Feb 1941 - 01 Dec 1941) and Richard Benner (01 Dec 1941 - 18 May 1942), II Bataillon by Emil Kuhler (Jul 1941 at earliest - Dec 1941 at latest when the Bataillon was disbanded) so the only possibility is III/SS-Infanterie-Regiment 7.
16 Jan 1942 - 31 Jan 1942....New info for me!
31 Jan 1942 - 15 Apr 1942....Starting date new info for me!
15 Apr 1942.....................The Bataillon was established on this day along with three other Bataillons but they were attached to SS-Gebirgs-Division "Nord" only in late September 1942. Probably nobody knew in April to which Regiments the Bataillons would be attached. (Divisional judge! ) SS-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 1 changed it's name to SS-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 7 in June 1942 so the only issue here is the end date 21 Dec 1942 vs. 23 Dec 1942.

A short biography of Willi Braun mentioning his decorations and giving him as commander of the remnants of Unterführerschule Radolfzell
until May 2, 1945 date of unit dissolution . According to the text he died in 1947 in US captivity.
