Post by Pon_jovi » 03 Aug 2015, 13:59

Hey Guys

I Need your help. I am searching for Informations about a Person called "Huebner". I only Know that he got the Honor Ring during the war. I have found Four Persons, who had the Name "Huebner" and had been SS-members.

Karl Huebner, SS-Mann, SS Nummer 243710

Otto Huebner, geb. 10.5.1909, SS Obersturmführer, SS Nummer 244824

Karl Huebner, SS- untersturmführer, SS Nummer 235786

Otto Huebner, SS- Unterscharführer, SS Nummer 239755

What Are the next Steps To find out which one of them is the Person i am searching for.

Thanks

Greetings.

The date inscribed around the inside of the ring is going to be vital if you want to ID the officer because Huebner (?) do you mean Hübner - with the umlauts ? is a relatively common name in Germany, at least 15 or 16 officers of the Waffen-SS were named Hübner even before you start looking at Allg-SS officers of that name and Police/SD officers (I think there are at least 7 or 8 Police/SD officers of the name).

Hey Peter

Thanks for Answer. The Name is "Huebner", not Hübner. And the Date of the Ring should be 21.12.42.

in DAL there is no Huebner in 30's and in 40's editions.
Question upon "umlaut" is not simple for non german. (i.e. Goering and Göring).
I remember Dieter Zinke wrote an interesting post upon this so particular grammatical form of german langage.

Im looking for verification that Johann Weber received an honor ring and presentation document on 30-08-1935.
Is SS-Untersturmführer a title for recipient? What is a DAL list? Is it in english? how do I get on it

DAL list means Dienstalterliste der SS der NSDAP. it's directories of SS officers published between 1934 and 1944. Only in german. You can find some copies on U.S. sites like Scribd.
